A Galois connection between two ordered sets is a pair of order preserving maps between them whose compositions satisfy standard inequalities. The author considers the monoid generated by these maps. He constructs a universal example by the maps for a Galois connection between two ordered sets and another one between their duals. He constructs a universal example and solves the word problem for it.
