The authors consider the nonlinear boundary value problem \[ v''(x)-\varepsilon v^{-q}(x)= 0,\quad 0< x< 1,\quad v'(1)= v^p(1), \] where \(0< p\), \(q<\infty\) and \(\varepsilon\) is a positive parameter. They investigate a relationship between the number of positive solutions and the parameters \(p\), \(q\) and \(\varepsilon\).
