Inside a very general higher-order foundational framework, aimed at accomodating a variety of scientific theories, and thus by design less formal than that of mathematical formal systems, promoted by E. De Giorgi [see \textit{E. De Giorgi, M. Forti} and \textit{G. Lenzi}, Atti Accad. Naz. Lincei, Cl. Sci. Fis. Mat. Nat., IX. Ser., Rend. Lincei, Mat. Appl. 5, No. 1, 11-22 (1994; Zbl 0797.03006)], which uses `quality' and `relation' in various ways, the authors analyze such concepts as `contingent', `positive', `necessary existence', with the ultimate aim of proving several ontological arguments: Gödel's, as well as variations thereof by C. A. Anderson and J. H. Sobel.
