Materials with granular structure, usually called micropolar continua, are of interest in many situations such as the propagation in Earth crust. In this paper the reflection and refraction at the plane boundary between a viscous liquid and a polar solid half-space are investigated. Amplitude ratios for incident and refracted waves are calculated for various angles of incidence and viscosity coefficients. Numerous examples are presented.
