One of the more resilient, and central, results in the representation theory of Lie algebras is the Weyl-Kac character formula. A formula for the weight multiplicities of certain irreducible representations was first proved by Weyl for finite-dimensional semisimple Lie algebras. It was extended by \textit{V. G. Kac} [Funkts. Anal. Prilozh. 8, No. 1, 77-78 (1974; Zbl 0299.17005)] to cover Kac-Moody algebras, and again by \textit{V. G. Kac} [Adv. Math. 30, 85-136 (1978; Zbl 0391.17010)] to apply to contragredient superalgebras. Later, \textit{R. Borcherds} [J. Algebra 115, 501-512 (1988; Zbl 0644.17010)] proved a version of the formula for generalized Kac-Moody algebras. In this paper, the author proves a character formula for irreducible and Verma modules with dominant lowest weight for (\(\mathbb{Z}_2\)-graded) generalized Kac-Moody superalgebras. At each step of the generalization process, the formula has gained some technical correction terms, but the underlying structure remains the same [cf. \textit{M. Miyamoto}, J. Algebra 180, 631-651 (1996; Zbl 0849.17022)].
