For an open subset \(U\) of a complex Banach space \(E\) and \(0<\alpha\leq 1,\) the authors consider the algebra \(\mathcal{H}_{\alpha wud}(U)\) of all analytic functions on \(U\) that are weakly uniformly continuous on each ball \(B(x,r)\) with \(x\in U\) and \(0<r<\alpha d(x, Fr(U)).\) The results are proved for spaces \(E\) having a Schauder basis and pseudoconvex open sets \(U,\) and \(\alpha\) a constant that depends only on the basis. This will be a standing assumption for the rest of this review. In the first section, the Levi problem for that class of functions is considered and it is shown that there is \(f\in \mathcal{H}_{\alpha wud}(U)\) such that for every point \(x\in U\) the radius of convergence of \(f\) at \(x\) is not greater than \(d(x, Fr(U)).\) The second one deals with interpolating sequences. It is proved that every sequence of distinct points \((x_p)\subset U\) such that \(\lim_p d(x_p, Fr(U))=0\) is interpolating, that is, for any sequence \((b_p)\subset \mathbb{C},\) there is \(f\in \mathcal{H}_{\alpha wud}(U)\) such that \(f(x_p)=b_p.\) Holomorphic approximation is the topic of Section 3. There the authors show that \(\mathcal{H}_{\alpha wud}(U)\) is a sequentially dense subspace of the space of all analytic functions on \(V\) for the compact open topology, for all strongly plurisubharmonic-convex open subsets \(V\) of \(U.\) Since \(U\) is separable, \(\mathcal{H}_{\alpha wud}(U)\) endowed with topology \(\tau\) of the uniform convergence on the balls \(\{B(x,r)\}\) turns out to be a Fréchet algebra. The paper's final section is devoted to prove a type of corona theorem, stating that in the case when the basis is shrinking, \(U\) is sequentially dense in the spectrum of \((\mathcal{H}_{\alpha wud}(U),\tau)\) for the Gelfand topology. Most of the results obtained follow from studying an interesting auxiliary algebra for which the results mentioned hold. For \(\mathcal{C}=(C_j),\) an ad-hoc countable exhaustion of \(U\) by open subsets, (see the paper under review), \(\mathcal{H}_{wu}(\mathcal{C}) \) is the algebra of all analytic functions in \(U\) that are weakly uniformly continuous on each \(C_j\) endowed with the topology of uniform convergence on the sets \((C_j).\) It turns out that \(\mathcal{H}_{wu}(\mathcal{C})\subset \mathcal{H}_{\alpha wud}(U).\)
