Let \(X\) be a Banach space and let \({\mathcal G}\) be its group of isometries. \(X\) is said to be almost transitive if for a unit vector, its orbit under \({\mathcal G}\) is dense in the unit sphere of \(X\). Several investigations revolve around additional conditions to make an almost transitive \(X\) (\(\dim(X) \geq 3\)) a Hilbert space; see [\textit{A. Skorik} and \textit{M. Zaidenberg}, Mat. Fiz. Anal. Geom. 4, No. 1--2, 212--247 (1997; Zbl 0916.46015)]. In this article, the authors achieve this under the condition that \(X\) has an \(I\)-vector, i.e., a unit vector \(x\) for which there is a homogeneous hyperplane \(H\) such that \(x\) is isosceles orthogonal to all the unit vectors in \(H\).
