The goal of the present paper is to describe certain second-order differential operators in the kernel of which slice regular functions belong, legitimating a concept of harmonicity for slice regular functions. One can find here Laplacians, mean value theorems, and related topics in the context of quaternionic analysis. The authors prove a Poisson formula for slice regular functions, as well as a Jensen's formula for semi-regular ones.
