    In the study of one-dimensional Littlewood-Paley theory, the \(g\)-function has proved to be very important. In the multilinear theory, \(g\)-functions have also proved to be interesting. In this paper, the authors study the multilinear Littlewood-Paley \(g\)-function given by \[ g(f)=\left( \int_{0}^{\infty }|\psi _{t}\ast f(x)|^{2}\frac{dt}{t}\right) ^{1/2}, \] where \[ \begin{aligned} \psi _{t}\ast f(x) &=\int_{\mathbb{R}^{nm}}\psi _{t}(y_{1},\dots,y_{m})\prod_{j=1}^{m}f_{j}(x-y_{j})dy_{j}, \\ \psi _{t}(y_{1},\dots,y_{m}) &=t^{-mn}\psi (y_{1}/t,\dots,y_{m}/t) \end{aligned} \] and \(\psi \) satisfies suitable size and smoothness conditions. They prove that the operator \(g(\cdot )\) satisfies a weak \(L^{1}\)-type endpoint estimate. They also show that if \(w=(w_{1},\dots,w_{m})\) satisfies a multi-dimensional \(A_{p}\) condition for \(1/p=1/p_{1}+\cdots +1/p_{m}\) and \(v_{w}=\prod_{i=1}^{m}w_{i}^{p/p_{i}}\), then \(g\) maps boundedly from \(L^{p_{1}}(w_{1})\times \cdots \times L^{p_{m}}(w_{m})\rightarrow L^{p}(v_{w})\) provided no \(p_{i}\) is equal to 1. When some \(p_{i}=1\), then \(g\) is of weak type \(L^{p_{1}}(w_{1})\times \cdots \times L^{p_{m}}(w_{m})\rightarrow L^{p,\infty }(v_{w})\). Other related results are also established.
