In this paper, the author derives upper bounds for moments of derivatives of the Dirichlet \(L\)-functions \(L(s, \chi)\) at the central point \(s=1/2\) under the generalized Riemann hypothesis (GRH). First assuming the GRH, for real \(k \in [1/2, 2)\) and integer \(l \geq 0\), the author proves that \[ \sum_{\chi \mod \, q, \atop \chi \neq 1} {| L^{(l)} (1/2, \chi) |}^{2k} \ll \varphi(q) \log^{k^2 + 2kl} q. \] This is an extension of an earlier work of \textit{D. R. Heath-Brown} [Acta Arith. 145, No. 4, 397--409 (2010; Zbl 1248.11059)]. Next, the author proves the following theorem which builts upon the the seminal work of \textit{K. Soundararajan} [Ann. Math. (2) 170, No. 2, 981--993 (2009; Zbl 1251.11058)]. Assume the GRH. Then for real \(k \geq 2\), integer \(l \geq 0\) and for any \(\varepsilon > 0\), one has \[ \sum_{\chi \mod \, q, \atop \chi \text{ primitive }} {| L^{(l)} (1/2, \chi) |}^{2k} \ll _{\varepsilon} \varphi(q) \log^{k^2 + 2kl+\varepsilon} q. \] An essential ingredient in the proof of the above result is an upper bound for \(\log |L(s,\chi) |\) in a bounded region to the right of \(\Re(s) = 1/2\), building upon an earlier work of \textit{M. B. Milinovich} [Bull. Lond. Math. Soc. 42, No. 1, 28--44 (2010; Zbl 1223.11102)].
