A differential graded category (dg-category) is a category enriched in the category of complexes of modules over some commutative base ring. A simplicial category is a category enriched in the category of simplicial sets. The corresponding homotopy theories are similar, and the author establishes a bridge between them constructing Quillen adjunctions relating the homotopy theories of the two. As an application to non-abelian Hodge theory, the Simpson's homotopy fiber [\textit{C. Simpson}, ``Geometricity of the Hodge filtration on the \(\infty\)-stack of perfect complexes over \(X_{\text{DR}}\)'', Mosc. Math. J. 9, No.~3, 665--721 (2009; Zbl 1189.14020)] can be obtained in a simpler way.
