The paper describes the set of all possible factorization lengths of polynomials in \(R[x]\). the main objective is to study the various aspects of non-uniqueness of factorization of \(x^n\) in special rings. And hence to classify them in terms of type of rings. They start the discussion with the set of lengths of finite commutative rings, and provide many examples showing the various possibilities of the set of lengths. They show that a regular polynomial in \(R[x]\) of degree \(n\) cannot have length greater than \(n\).
