The authors consider a class of singularly perturbed two-point boundary value problems for second order ordinary differential equations. The proposed computational method is a combination of the exponentially fitted difference scheme and the classical numerical methods. That is, dividing the given interval into two subintervals of inner and outer regions, they solve the differential equation over both the regions as two-point boundary value problems. The missing terminal boundary condition of the inner region is obtained using the zero-order asymptotic expansion of the solution. An error bound for the approximate solution is given. Some numerical examples are shown to illustrate the method.
