Grothendieck has defined the notion of a computable sheaf [Bull. Soc. Math. Fr. 84, 1-7, (1956; Zbl 0071.174)]. Here, the author proves that the cohomology of those sheaves of abelian groups and commutative rings over paracompact topological spaces can be computed as the cohomology of cochain complexes defined by a finite sequence of coverings.
