Given a semiring \(\Lambda\), a short exact sequence \(A\rightarrow B\rightarrow C\) of \(\Lambda\)-semimodules and homomorphisms is called a Schreier short exact sequence if (1) the homomorphism \(f: A\rightarrow B\) is injective and the homomorphism \(g:B\rightarrow C\) is surjective, and (2) for any \(c\in C\), the pre-image \(g^{-1}(c)\) contains an element \(u_c\) with the property that for any \(b\in g^{-1}(c)\) there is a unique \(a\in A\) with \(b=f(a)+u_c\). In the paper under review, the author studies the exactness of long sequences of homology semimodules associated to a Schreier short exact sequence of chain complexes of semimodules. The main results in the paper are Theorem 2.4 and Theorem 2.5. For the precise contexts of the two theorems we refer to the paper.
