    The author of the paper under review defines an \(\ell\)-algebra \(A\) to be a \textit{generalized almost \(f\)-algebra} if \(x\land y=0\) implies \(xyA=Axy=0\). This class of algebras is studied and compared to related existing notions in the literature. Recall that an \(\ell\)-algebra \(A\) is an almost \(f\)-algebra (the notion is due to \textit{S. J. Bernau} and \textit{C. B. Huijsmans} [``Almost \(f\)-algebras and \(d\)-algebras'', Math. Proc. Camb. Philos. Soc. 107, No. 2, 287--308 (1990; Zbl 0707.06009)]) if \(x\land y=0\) implies \(xy=0\), and is called an \(f\)-algebra if \(x\land y=0\) implies \(xz\land y=zx\land y=0\) for all \(z\in A^+\). Generalized almost \(f\)-algebras are generalizations of these two classes and, as shown by the author, very close to \(f\)-algebras under the presence of an Archimedean condition.
