This manuscript studies the resonances of Schrödinger operators \(H_V=-\Delta+V\) acting in \(L^2(\mathbb{R}^d)\), where \(V\) is a real-valued, bounded, and compactly supported function, called the potential. In the event that \(d\) is even, the function \(R_V(\lambda) := (H_V -\lambda^2)^{-1}\) enjoys a meromorphic continuation to the logarithmic cover of \(\mathbb{C}\setminus \{0\}\). The author defines a resonance to be a pole of this continuation, including bound states arising from eigenvalues of \(H_V\) (as noted in the paper, the literature is not uniform on this point -- see the discussion on page 1544). The author proves a lower bound for the density of the resonances of \(H_V\), and proves comparison results for \(H_{V_1}\) and \(H_{V_2}\). For example, if \(V_1\) and \(V_2\) are smooth and have the same resonances, then they have the same heat coefficients. The author also proves a regularity result based on the resonances. The results are inspired by the work of \textit{H. F. Smith} and \textit{M. Zworski} in odd dimensions [Ann. Inst. Fourier 66, No. 2, 455--475 (2016; Zbl 1358.35077)].
