New exact solutions to the (2 + 1)-dimensional Broer-Kaup equation (Q2468094)

In this paper, the authors study the following \((2+1)\)-dimensional Broer-Kaup(BK) equations: \[ \begin{aligned} &H_{yt}=H_{xxy}-2(HH_{x})_{y}-2G_{xx},\\ &G_{t}=-G_{xx}-2(GH)_{x}. \end{aligned} \] Using an improved projective Riccati equation approach which depends on a version of Painlevé expansion, the authors obtain the explicit solutions of the \((2+1)\)-dimensional Broer-Kaup equation, including Weierstrass function solutions, several kinds of solitons and trigonometric function solutions.
