Theo Grundhöfer defined the Figueroa planes as certain twists of the Desarguesian planes, using collineations of order 3, which remain collineations of order 3 in the Figueroa planes. In the paper under review, the author shows that no Figueroa plane contains a Fano subplane (this is just a subplane of order 2) that contains a triangle which is invariant under the order 3 collineation used to define the Figueroa plane.
