    The author considers the equation \[ u^{\prime \prime }(t)=\ell (u)(t)+q(t)\quad\text{ for }0\leq t\leq \omega \] with the periodic boundary conditions \[ u^{(i)}(0)=u^{(i)}(\omega )\quad i=0,1, \] where \(\omega >0,\) \(\ell :C([0,\omega ])\rightarrow L([0,\omega ])\) is a linear bounded operator and \(q\in L([0,\omega ])\). For the unique solvability of the above periodic problem, unimprovable efficient sufficient conditions are established.
