The authors study effective thermal conductivity of porous rocks under partially saturated conditions. They use a two-step homogenization scheme in order to determine the effective thermal conductivity for an isotropic medium, for an isotropic distribution of inclusions, and for porous media with multiple solid constituents. Comparisons with experimental data are presented.
