    A weak Hilbert space is a Banach space \(X\) for which there exist \(\delta >0\) and \(K<\infty\) such that, if \(E\) is a finite-dimensional subspace of \(X\), then there exists a subspace \(F\subseteq E\) with \(\dim F\geq\delta\dim E\), \(F\) is \(K\)-complemented in \(X\), and \(\text{dist}(F,\ell_2^{\dim F})\leq K\). The author constructs a complex weak Hilbert space \(X\) which is not isomorphic to its complex conjugate \(\overline X\). \(\overline X\) is the same Banach space as \(X\), but complex multiplication is given by \(\lambda\odot x=\overline\lambda x\). The construction is quite involved with the basic building blocks being 2-convexifications of the Tsirelson spaces \(T_\sigma\), \(0<\sigma<1\). \textit{J.\,Bourgain} [Proc.\ Am.\ Math.\ Soc.\ 96, 221--226 (1986; Zbl 0597.46017)] and \textit{S.\,Szarek} [Proc.\ Am.\ Math.\ Soc.\ 97, 437--444 (1986; Zbl 0604.46019)] had earlier constructed complex Banach spaces with two non-isomorphic complex structures.
