Let \(\pi:X\rightarrow \mathbb{P}^{n}\) be the blowing-up of the projective space at \(r\) general points and let \(L\) be the following line bundle on \(X\): \(L=dH-k\sum_{i=1}^r E_i\), where \(H=\pi^*\mathcal O_{\mathbb{P}^n}(1)\) and \(E_1,...,E_r\) are the exceptional divisors. Here the author states a conjecture about the \(k\)-very ampleness of \(L\) and proves a slightly weaker version of it. The result is an application of a theorem of \textit{J. Alexander} and \textit{A. Hirschowitz} [Invent. Math. 140, No.2, 303--325 (2000; Zbl 0973.14026)]. It says that there exists a function \(d(k)\) such that, if \(d\geq d(k)\) and \(r\leq{{{d-k+n}\choose{n}}/{{k+n-1}\choose{n}}}\), then \(L\) is \(k\)-very ample.
