The authors study some special properties of Fredholm operators with zero index acting in a Banach space \(X\) (they call them Weyl operators). Let \(SF_+(X)\) be the set of (upper)-Fredholm operators with finite-dimensional null set (such operators known in the literature as \(\Phi^+\)-operators, which goes back to \textit{I. Gohberg} and \textit{M. Krein} [``The fundamentals on defect numbers, root numbers, and indices of linear operators'', Am. Math. Soc., Transl., II. Ser. 13, 185--264 (1960; Zbl 0089.32201)] and let \(SF_+^-(X)\) denote the set of operator of operators \(T\in SF_+(X)\) with \(\text{ind}(T)\leq 0\). The authors prove some statements for what they call upper Weyl spectrum, defined as \[ \sigma_{SF_+^-}(T)=\{\lambda\in\mathbb{C}: T-\lambda I \notin SF_+^-(X)\}, \] the main point being related to the clarification of the impact of isolated points.
