This paper deals with the asymptotic analysis of the free energy of a multi-structure that consists of a nano-wire in junction with a thin film and a multi-structure of two joined nano-wires. The authors study both the one-dimensional case and the two-dimensional setting. The arguments combine the \(\Gamma\)-convergence method with rescaling and symmetry techniques.
