In this paper, the authors introduce vector-valued Hermite expansions to approximate one-parameter operator families such as \(C_0\)-groups and cosine functions. The authors initially study of a family of functions involving Hermite polynomials for which some properties similar to those known for Hermite polynomials hold, give some estimates for their \(p\)-norm, and study their the density in \(L^p (\mathbb R)\), \(1 \leq p < \infty\). Then they define vector-valued Hermite expansions and show their pointwise convergence (Theorem 2.8). For the case of one-parameter operator families such as \(C_0\)-groups and cosine functions considered next, the authors estimate the rate of convergence of these Hermite expansions to the related family and compare to other already known approximations. As interesting consequences, they obtain Hermite expansions for Fejér operators and series representation for subordinated semigroups. Finally, some examples of \(C_0\)-groups and cosine functions and their Hermite expansions are studied. The presentation is clear and well organized.
