The authors consider systems of the form \[ x'= bx+ cy+ dx^2+ exy+ fy^2,\quad y'= Q(x,y),\tag{\(*\)} \] where \(Q(x,y)\) is either \(x\) or \(y\). A Liouvillian first integral is a first integral \(H\), where \(H\) is a Liouvillian function, that is, roughly speaking, a function which can be obtained by ``quadratures'' of elementary functions. The authors give conditions under which \((*)\) has a Liouvillian first integral, at the same time they provide the corresponding explicit expression.
