Let \(R\) be a complete discrete valuation ring with fraction field \(K\) of characteristic 0 and residue field \(k\) of characteristic \(p\), assumed to be algebraically closed. Let \(\mathcal{X}\) be a proper and smooth \(R\)-curve and let \(f: \mathcal{Y} \rightarrow \mathcal{X}\) be a finite Galois cover, where \(\mathcal{Y}\) is normal. In this paper the author introduces what he calls ``a simple degeneration data of rank \(p\) torsor'', which comprises a tree of of \(k\)-projective lines endowed with some data of geometric and combinatorial nature, and which he proves that describe the geometry of the special fiber of a minimal semi-stable model of \(\mathcal{Y}\).
