All spaces are separable and metric. The paper is a continuation and extension of an earlier paper by the authors regarding almost one-to-one-maps (continuous maps which are injective on a dense subspace of the domain space). The extensions include almost \(d\)-one-to-one maps, covering maps, branched covering maps between locally connected continua, almost separated maps (there is an \(\varepsilon >0\) and a dense subset \(A\) of \(f(X)\) so that for every \(x\in A\) the distance between every two points of \(f^{-1}(x)\) is at least \(\varepsilon\)). A typical result: almost separated maps between closed manifolds are covering maps. Some applications to arbitrary continuous maps are given.
