Let \(H\) be an infinite-dimensional separable complex Hilbert space and let \(B(H)\) be the algebra of all bounded linear operators on \(H\). Then \(T\in B(H)\) is called nonhypertransitive (NHT) if there exists a nonzero vector \(x\in H\) whose orbit \(\{T^nx\}_{n\geq0}\) is not dense in \(H\). It is still unknown whether every \(T\in B(H)\) is (NHT). The paper under review contains several results related to the class (NHT). For instance, it is shown that every \(T\in B(H)\) for which \(r(T)\neq1\) is (NHT) (\(r(T)\) is the spectral radius of \(T\)). Other sufficient conditions for nonhypertransitivity expressed in terms related to the spectral and numerical radii or their essential counterparts are also provided. The paper also contains several illuminating examples and points out various open problems related to these operators.
