The author extends certain ideas and methods from the univariate case of the time scales calculus to the bivariate case. As consequences of his results he finds the solutions of the homogeneous and nonhomogeneous heat and wave operators, when the initial distributions are in terms of elementary functions, by means of the generalized Laplace transform.
