    Man schreibe \[ (m)^k = (n)^k,\tag{1} \] wenn die Gleichung \[ x_1^k+\cdots +x_m^k=y_1^k+\cdots +y_n^k\tag{2} \] eine Lösung in ganzen positiven teilerfremden \(x_i, y_j\), besitzt, wo kein \(x_i\) einem \(y_j\) gleich ist. Ist (1) unendlich oft wahr, so schreibe man \[ (m)^k=(n)^k \;\;\text{u. o.}\tag{3} \] \(\gamma (k)\) bedeute den kleinsten Wert von \(n\), für welchen (3) mit \(m < n\) wahr ist. Verf. beweist: \((6)^7 = (7)^7\) u. o., d. h. \(\gamma (7) \leqq 7\) und \((8)^9 = (9)^9\) u. o., d. h. \(\gamma (9) \leqq 9.\) -- (Vgl. hierzu \textit{K. S. Rao}, Journ. London math.
