This is an extensive research into the sections of matrix analysis which emerge at the brink of algebraic geometry and convex analysis. The authors claim that these generalizations are relevant to quantum channel and quantum operation interpolation problems. The cornerstone of the research is the Effros-Winkler matricial Hahn-Banach theorem [\textit{E. G. Effros} and \textit{S. Winkler}, J. Funct. Anal. 144, No. 1, 117--152 (1997; Zbl 0897.46046)]. The article fully covers the main topics of convex analysis in matrix disguise. Among them, we mention the polar theory including matrix convex tracial sets and free cones. All in all, the article is a very welcome introduction and invitation to the new promising areas of convex analysis within algebraic geometry.
