In this paper, the authors proved that for every bounded linear operator \(A\) acting on a separable complex Hilbert space \(H\) (which is \(C\)-normal for some conjugation \(C\)) and for every \(\varepsilon>0\) there exists a finite rank operator \(F\) with rank less or equal to 4 and \(\Vert F\Vert\leq \varepsilon\) such \(A+F\) is in the class of operators that are \(C\)-normal with respect to some conjugation \(C\) and as a consequence \(A+F\) is neither complex symmetric nor skew-symmetric. The arguments of their proof was based on an refined polar decomposition for \(C\)-normal operators. Moreover, they proved that the set of operators that are not \(C\)-normal for any conjugation \(C\) on \(H\) is dense in the linear space of bounded linear operators acting on \(H\).
