On the torus \(\Pi^2\) the following problem for the Kadomtsev-Petviashvili equation is considered \[ u_t+ uu_x+ u_{xxx}= D^{-1}u_{yy},\quad u(x,y,0)= g(x,y),\tag{1} \] where \(D^{-1}f(x,y)= \int^x_0 f(s,y)ds\). In accordance with the linearized equation, anisotropic Sobolev spaces \(V_m\) are introduced. The author proves that for solutions of (1) \(|u(t)|_{V_3}\) conserves in time, which is needed to globalize the known local existence result.
