This paper gives various solutions to the question: Given Banach couples \(A=(A_0,A_1)\) and \(B=(B_0,B_1)\) and a bounded linear operator \(T:A\to B\) such that \(T:A_0\to B_0\) is compact, is \(T:[A_0,A_1]_\theta\to[B_0,B_1]_\theta\) compact for \(\theta\in(0,1)\)? Solutions include where \(T\) has a simple form and where \(A_j\) and \(B_j\) have additional properties.
