The authors have introduced and studied a model of singular perturbation for discrete-time nonlinear systems. The well-known Tikhonov theorem on singular perturbation of continuous systems is extended to discrete systems and the scalar Lyapunov function approach to the stability analysis of such systems is developed in the paper.
