The author considers the impulsive differential equation of the second order with state-dependent impulses and Dirichlet homogeneous conditions: \[ \begin{aligned} &\ddot x(t) = f(t,x(t)) \quad \text{for a.e. }t \in [0,T], \;x(t) \in \text{int} K, \\ &\dot x(s+) = \dot x(s-) + I(x(s),\dot x(s-)), \quad \text{if }x(s) \in \partial K, \\ &x(0) = x(T) = 0, \end{aligned} \] where \(K \subset {\mathbb R}^n\), \(f\) is a Carathéodory function on \([0,T]\times K\). Existence and multiplicity results are obtained in the one-dimensional case for \(K = [-R,R]\) for \(R > 0\) under Lipschitz continuity of \(f\) for the second variable and for \(I(x(s),\dot x(s-)) = -2\dot x(s-)\). The proof is based on the continuity dependence of solution on its derivative at \(0\). The multidimensional case is discussed, too. Sufficient conditions guaranteeing the existence of infinitely many solutions are found via topological degree theory.
