Let \(M\) be a complete Finsler manifold with \(\dim M = n\), Ricci curvature Ric bounded from below and \((d/dt)(\phi_t^\ast d\hat{\mu})= 0\), \(d\hat{\mu}\) being the standard lift to \(TM\) of the Busemann volume form \(d\mu\) and \((\phi_t)\) the geodesic flow of \(M\). The author proves the following: (1) If the scalar curvature of \(M\) is \(\geq n(n-1)\) and the growth type of \(M\) is non-exponential, then the conjugate radius of \(M\) is \(\leq\pi\). (2) If the conjugate radius of \(M\) is \(\geq r\), then the upper limit as \(\rho\to\infty\) of the \(d\mu\)-average of the scalar curvature of \(M\) over a ball of radius \(\rho\) is bounded by a constant which depends only on \(r\), \(n\) and \(\inf\) Ric.
