The authors addresses in this book a summarize of their work on networked control by virtue of the discontinuous Lyapunov functional approach. In Chapter 1, they introduce the fundamental issues in NCSs (networked control systems) and the three main approaches adopted for the analysis of this type of control systems. Detailed literature review is addressed in this chapter. In particular, the time-delay approach is emphasized in Chap. 1. In Chaps. 2--8, they study networked control for continuous-time plants. In Chapters 9--12 they present our analysis on networked control for discrete-time plants. In particular, in Chap. 12, they develop a time-delay approach to the decentralized exponential stabilization and \(l_2\) gain analysis of large-scale NCSs with local networks in the presence of TOD (try-once discard)/round-robin protocol. This book is well written and clear and constitute a very good reference for recent developments on the Lyapunov-based analysis of networked control under communication constraints, and which can be useful for the scientists and engineers with interest in sampled-data and networked control, time-delay systems, and of course to graduate students in automatic control and systems theory.
