The very interesting paper under review deals with the behaviour of solutions to the biharmonic equation \[ \Delta^2u=f\quad \text{in}\;\Omega,\qquad u\in \dot{W}^2_2(\Omega) \] over an arbitrary domain \(\Omega\subset\mathbb R^n,\) where \(\dot{W}^2_2(\Omega)\) is the completion of \(C_0^\infty(\Omega)\) with respect to the norm \(\|\Delta u\|_{L^2(\Omega)}.\) The authors introduce new techniques which allow to obtain \textit{boundedness of the gradient of the solution to the biharmonic equation under no restrictions on the domain \(\Omega.\)} In particular, the following results are established: (1) Boundedness of the gradient of a solution in any three-dimensional domain; (2) Pointwise estimates for the derivatives of the biharmonic Green function; (3) Necessary and sufficient conditions of Wiener type for continuity of the gradient of a solution.
