Frame expansions for Gabor multipliers (Q818333)

Discrete Gabor multipliers are a superposition of rank one operators. Consider the generating operators for the multipliers as members of the Hilbert space of Hilbert-Schmidt operators \(HS\); it is proved that in the case of rank one projection operators, either the generating operators form a Riesz basis for \(HS\), or they are not frame sequences. Under certain mild conditions, the same conclusion holds for general rank one operators associated with Gabor multipliers.
