This very interesting paper is concerning the possible finite-time singularity (from smooth initial data) for Navier-Stokes and Euler equations in \(\mathbb{R}^3\). When these equations are considered in a domain, in [\textit{G. Luo} and \textit{T. Y. Hou}, Multiscale Model. Simul. 12, No. 4, 1722--1776 (2014; Zbl 1316.35235)] was proved that some singularities can exist on the boundary. The new element of the present paper is to show that this is not relevant in the case of the whole \(\mathbb{R}^3\). To this end, an important step is to rewrite the vortex stretching term for Euler and Navier-Stokes equations -- see the formulas (1)--(2). The author introduces new geometric criteria to find the regions of the maximum value for the vorticity. The anisotropic properties of these regions could avoid the formation of singularities. The finer structure of the Euler bilinear operator \(B\) is analyzed. The following mathematical tools are used: the 3D matrix Leray's projection operator; the Sobolev space \(H^s(\mathbb{R}^d )=J^{-s}L^2(\mathbb{R}^d )\), where \(J = (1 - \Delta)^{1/2}\); the Riesz transform; the Cauchy-Lipschitz theorem; the Helmholtz's first vortex-formula. Some results given in [\textit{J. Deng} et al., Commun. Partial Differ. Equations 30, No. 2, 225--243 (2005; Zbl 1142.35549)] are also used in Section 4, where the solution is estimated with respect to the vorticity. A relevant reference list is given in the last part, containing recent results in the topic.
