Let \(\mathcal G\) be a simple algebraic group over an algebraically closed field \(K\) and let \(G=\mathcal G(K)\). The author considers the problem: when can an element \(g\in G\) be presented in the form \(g=\mathfrak e_n(g_1,g_2):=[g_1,[g_1,\ldots[g_1,g_2]\cdots]]\) for some \(g_1,g_2 \in G\)? In particular the author proves the following results: 1. If \(G=\text{PSp}_4(K)\) or \(G=\text{G}_2(K)\), then \(\text{Im\,}\widetilde{\mathfrak e}_n=G\) for every \(n\); if, in addition, \(\text{char\,}K\neq 3\), then for \(G=\mathrm{Sp}_4(K)\) we have \(\mathrm{Im\,}\widetilde{\mathfrak e}_n=G\) for every \(n\). 2. If \(G=\text{PGL}_3 (K)\), then \(\text{Im\,}\widetilde{\mathfrak e}_2=G\). 3. If \(\mathcal G\) is a group of Lie rank 3 and if \(\mathrm{char\,}K=0\) or \(\mathrm{char\,}K>7\), then every regular element of \(G\) is contained in \(\text{Im\,}\widetilde{\mathfrak e}_2\). 4. If \(g\) is a regular general parabolic element in \(G\), then \(g\in\text{Im\,}\widetilde{\mathfrak e}_2\).
