Predication in the logic of terms (Q918527)

Modern predicate logic works with two classes of categorematic expressions, nouns (including constants, variables, and n-place operators) and verbs (n-place predicates), and thereby is unable to explore the formal properties of the predication relation itself. The author introduces a purely noun-based system, a term/functor logic (TFL) developed from Aristotelian syllogistic. TFL requires numerical indices and handles at least triadic predicates and multiple generality. It is unfortunate that the author does not explore the relations of TFL either to other noun-based systems such as Leśniewski's Ontology, or to other developments from syllogistic such as \textit{C. L. Hamblin}'s ``felicitous fragment'' [ibid. 14, 433-447 (1973; Zbl 0214.008)].
