The book is divided in five parts. (I) Preliminaries: deals with classical continuum theory, viscous and inviscid fluids, and kinetic theory; (II) Continuum theory: presents continuum balance and mixture equations; (III) Averaging theory: makes the reader familiar with ensemble and other averages and averaged equations; (IV) Modeling multicomponent flows: treats the relations among microstructure constitutive equations, Maxwell-Boltzmann dynamics, and equations of motion for dilute flows; (V) Consequences: discusses the well-posedness, solutions for shearing flows and wave dynamics. It is a well-written book which can be termed as a landmark in the theory of multicomponent fluids.
