Let \(k\) be an imaginary abelian extension of \(Q\) of degree a power of 2, let \(F\) be a real abelian extension of \(Q\) of odd degree and write \(K=Fk\). When \(K\) is a cyclic extension of \(Q\), Hasse gave a criterion for \(h{}_K^{-}\) to be odd. The author removed the hypothesis that \(K\) is cyclic and gave in a previous paper an algebraic proof for \(h{}_K^{-}\;h_k^{-}\) to be odd [Osaka J. Math. 50, No. 2, 563--572 (2013; Zbl 1325.11110)]. In the paper under review, he provides another algebraic proof using a so-called classical reflection argument.
