A function \(f : [0,\infty) \to \mathbb{R}\) is said to be superquadratic provided that for all \(s \geq 0\) there exists a constant \(C_s \in\mathbb{R}\) such that \(f(t)\geq f(s) + C_s(t - s) + f(|t - s|)\) for all \(t \geq 0\). The authors employ some integral inequalities containing superquadratic functions due to \textit{S. Abramovich} et al. [Bull. Math. Soc. Sci. Math. Roum., Nouv. Sér. 47(95), No. 1--2, 3--4 (2004; Zbl 1150.26333)] to generalize Theorem 2.1 of the first author [Linear Algebra Appl. 456, 82--87 (2014; Zbl 1391.47002)]. They also prove a theorem for superquadratic functions analogous to a result of \textit{J. S. Matharu} et al. [Linear Algebra Appl. 435, No. 2, 270--276 (2011; Zbl 1217.47019)] for convex functions. Several nice examples are provided to illustrate the results.
