Let \(a_1\), \(a_2\) and \(a_3\) be three non-collinear points in the complex plane \(\mathbb C\), and \(\Delta=\Delta(a_1,a_2,a_3)\) be the Chebotarev continuum with center \(a_0\), that is the uniquely defined set in \(\mathbb{C}\) which is connected, compact, containing these points and having minimal logarithmic capacity. Let \(D\) be the complement of \(\Delta\) in the extended complex plane \(\overline{\mathbb C}\), \(h\) be a complex-valued function defined on \(\Delta\) and \[ f_h(z):=\frac1{\pi i}\int_{\Delta}\frac{h(t)}{t-z}\frac{dt}{w^+(t)},\quad z\in D\,, \] where \(w(z):=\sqrt{\prod_{k=0}^3(z-a_k)}\) and \(w^+\) is the one-side value according to some orientation of \(\Delta\). The authors investigate strong asymptotics of diagonal Padé approximations to \(f_h\). In particular, the following theorem is true. { Theorem 4.} Let \(\{\pi_n=p_n/q_n\}\) be the sequence of diagonal Padé approximations to \(f_{1/p},\) where \(p\) is a polynomial non-vanishing on \(\Delta\). Then \[ (f_{1/p}-\pi_n)=\frac2w\frac{S^*_n}{S_n+pS^*_n},\quad q_n=S_n+pS^*_n\,, \] for all \(2n>\mathrm{deg}\,(p)+2,\) where \(S_n\) and \(S^*_n\) are the conjugate functions derived from \(S_n\). A similar theorem is obtained for a complex-valued Dini-continuous non-vanishing function on \(\Delta\). The authors describe also the behavior of the spurious pole and the regions of locally uniform convergence from a generic perspective.
