Let \(A\subset B\) be noncommutative algebras and let \(H\) be a Hopf algebra over a field \(k\). The authors show that \(B\) is a cleft right \(H\)-extension of \(A\) if and only if the extension \(B\) is equivalent to a crossed product of \(A\) and \(H\) for some weak action of \(H\) on \(A\) and convolution invertible cocycle \(\sigma:H\otimes H\to A\). Now let \(H\) be a finite dimensional algebra. Then it is known that the cleft right \(H\)-extensions of \(A\) are the \(H\)-Galois extensions of \(A\) which have normal bases. The authors show that whenever \(H\) is semisimple and \(A\) is semi-simple Artinian, then every cleft right \(H\)-extension of \(A\) is semi-simple Artinian. And whenever \(B\) is a central, simple \(k\)-algebra which is an \(H\)-Galois extension of \(A\) and \(A\) is a left \(A\)-module direct summand of \(B\), then the action of the dual Hopf algebra \(H^*\) (induced by the right \(H\)-comodule structure on \(B\)) is inner.
